WORKING!! cover Pictures, Images and Photos

Hello fellow Otaku! It’s Luna again, right back at you with another review!
The anime we will be looking at today is the newly released (and recently finished) Working!!

This is a pure comedy anime about a group of people working at a famiy resturaunt... sounds kinda boring, right? Well let me tell you: IT'S HILARIOUS!
I laughed in every single episode! The on-running gags are just too funny XD
I especially loved Inami-chan's "man-phobia" moments, lmao XD

Animation is decent. This isn’t an action anime, so you won’t really see any “awesome effects” and such. But it’s enough to get by ;)

But, it was too short! It doesn't feel like it's finished! I mean, they introduced a new character in the last few episodes (which is probably why it feels so open-ended). I don't know about you guys, but I want to know who Matsumoto is and why she wants to be normal so much ;__;

For me, the show didn't really hit it off with me until Inami-chan was introduced. And she's mainly the focus of the plot. And that’s another thing: it just seemed that the characters were kinda just "there". No real reason as to how they came to be so funny and weird (with the exception of Inami, Yachiyo, Kyouko, and Satou). Their pasts were just barely touched, and then the anime moved on. But that is sort of to be expected with a comedy anime, so I won’t bump it down for that too much.

And what's the deal with Yamada? She just suddenly shows up! We do know she's a runaway, but WHY did she run away? Everything is just too open-ended.

They better make a second season =.=

Other than all those negative points, I thoroughly enjoyed it ^^
Laughter is the best medicine, ya know!

And I loved the love triangle between Yachiyo, Kyouko, and Satou <3 *cough cough*Yuri ftw!*cough cough* I give this anime….. *drumroll* 7 WASABI COOKIES!!

Now I’m off to watch another anime~ Keep reading ;P (P.S: I LOVED THE OPENING!!)

So, the genre of the month is…HORROR/THRILLER. *Insert Girly Scream Here* To celebrate this, I have read the first volume of Doubt written by Yoshiki Tonogai. And it was trippy. It’s a psychological thriller, so if you like to freak yourself out, read Doubt (Ha, that rhymed!). It first made its appearance in Monthly Shonen Gangan on July 12, 2007 and its first volume was released December 22, 2007. Sadly Doubt only has four volumes, on the upside it has a sequel!

In the manga, there are teenagers who play a cell phone game called Rabbit Doubt, where everyone is a rabbit and one rabbit is really a wolf in disguise, killing all of the other rabbits. If the player is a rabbit, he has to figure out who the wolf is before he dies and if the player is the wolf then he has to stay hidden and kill as many rabbits as possible. It’s all fun and games at first but when the players decide to meet in real life, they’re thrust into a very real game of Rabbit Doubt with very real deaths. Now everyone is suspicious and frantic to get out alive.

From what I can tell, the manga is really good. It has plot twists at every turn and always manages to surprise. The characters are all completely different and have their own little quirks. Doubt is very graphic and the layout is well thought out. There’s even a little bit of humor mixed in, like a dead guy forever flipping people off and a tough guy getting pimped slapped.
Unfortunately there’s a little splash of sappy romance because apparently for every good manga it’s required. And there’s over-developed schoolgirls with short skirts and sexy poses. Thankfully it’s kept to a bear minimum and doesn’t detract from the storyline. And for some people, those two minuses are actually GOOD things (even though they shouldn’t be).

Overall I give Doubt 9 cookie points because yes, the first volume did make just THAT good of an impression. That alone should tell you to get off your ass and go buy Doubt, or at the very least go on BoxManga. And if you can’t find Doubt, it also goes by Rabbit Doubt and Rabitto Dauto.

Hi everyone! It's Luna (aka: Marina, but for privacy purposes I shall be Luna from now on XD). This is the very first review in An Otaku's Guide to Reality!!! *confetti flies everywhere in a festive manner*

Let's get started then, shall we? :3
The first anime we shall review is....

Angel Beats Pictures, Images and Photos

Angel Beats!

This is an Action, comedy, and supernatural anime with a teeny bit of romance (but not really lol).
So many good things about this one! The animation was top of the line in my opinion. Fluid movements, nice effects, and great camera perspective! Luckily, the animation was consistent throughout the whole series! And we all know how much we cringe at sudden animation laziness *shivers*

Fight scenes were awesome! Everytime Tachibana used her Guard Skill, shivers went down my spine! And the explosives! Very dynamic, and not too over-done.

The music was also very good. Very modern, but also very original to the story :3

The story itself was very intriguing. It sort of ties in what every normal person thinks about. What lies beyond death?

The characters.... you gotta love em all XD
Consistent and unique personalities are always a plus, and Angle Beats is no exception. I couldn't find a single character that I actually disliked (except for one, but I don't think I should put any spoilers in here X3)

As for anything else i may not have mentioned... well, let's just say I laughed, cried, and shouted "NOOOOOO!" and "NO WAY!!" throughout the whole show ^^;

Okay, now for the part that must come with every review....

THE NEGATIVES *dun dun duuuuun!*

Although there are many things I liked about this anime, there are still a few things that irked me.
One thing was that they only focused on one or two of the character's stories. Sure, they were vital, but it makes it seem as though the other characters were just comic relief (which they were, I admit, but still!)

We never find out how TK ended up there!

TK is, like, the most mysterious character! But that's because he speaks English.... and he doesn't talk a lot...

And what about Shiina?? She was my favorite!

*ahem* anyways....

*SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!!*

The last thing I didn't like was how most of the characters just disappear in the end... It's as if they just said "oh, okay, so we just have to realize our purpose or whatever. Okay, bye!" They didn't even say bye though!

*END OF SPOILER*

All in all, this was an amazing anime that is definately a MUST SEE!
Now to rate it!! :D
It deserves *drumroll*

8 WASABICOOKIES!

now I shall show you the openings and you shall watch them :3

Until next time~!
